After School Clubs

In Years One and Two the children can choose to take part in After School Clubs. The clubs run on a Monday from 3.20 -4.20pm. The clubs are run as small groups of 8-10 children where the emphasis is on learning in a fun in a relaxed atmosphere.

COOKING : The children explore a variety of cooking techniques and make both sweet and savoury dishes which they take home afterwards. We have now started another cooking club where the children learn to make dishes from around the world. This term they have made black bean and vegetable stir fry with noodles, chilli with rice, turkey tikka with naan bread and carbonara with garlic bread.

FUN ACTIVE : The children play games and use a variety of fun sports equipment.

EXPERIMENTS: The children take part in fun science experiments, make a hovercraft, watch a volcano erupt and

EXTINCT ANIMALS: The children learn about dinosaurs, sabre toothed tigers, mammoths and look at animals which may become extinct.

GARDENING: The children plant flowers and vegetables, care for the plants and learn about how they grow.

LANGUAGES: The children learn basic vocabulary, colours, greetings and how to count in French, German or Spanish.

OUR WORLD : The children make their own passport and learn about countries around the world.

ART & CRAFT : The children use a variety of media to create models, puppets, and mosaics.

FOOTBALL : On a Wednesday afternoon the children also have the opportunity to take part in a football club run by qualified FA football coaches.
