WHAT YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO BRING TO SCHOOL

Please can your child bring a named water bottle each day and their reading diary and books on Fridays. All pencils, pens and other stationery are provided individually for each child.

READING ORGANISATION

One or two books will be given to the children to take home at the beginning of each week. Please would you read these books and keep them at home and write in the reading diaries. Books then need to be returned on Fridays and will be kept in ‘quarantine’ until the beginning of the following week. Children will then be given new books to take home. School staff will initial in the reading diaries next to your entries. We will endeavour to hear children read individually each week. When children move up a level in reading, they will receive a special sticker from Mr Goodier.

PE DAYS & ORGANISATION

Garnet Class have PE on Wednesday and Friday.

Please would you send children into school wearing their PE kit on these days. They do not need to change into uniform on PE days. Please note, earrings cannot be worn for PE.

PHONICS & SPELLINGS

On Mondays to Thursdays, your child will have a phonics lesson to learn new sounds and letters which then help them with reading and writing. Spellings will be given out each week for children to learn at home. Please don’t return the sheets to school.
